Mont-Rolland Station

In 1887, Sainte-Adèle allocated funds of $10,000 to the construction of the railroad. The first train arrived in 1891, a few months after the death of its instigator, Curé Labelle, who never ceased to promote the importance of a railroad connecting Montreal and the Northern Townships.

The current train station, built in 1928, is now a stop on the P’tit Train du Nord cycle path, which is travelled by over one million cyclists, pedestrians and cross-country skiers each year. That makes for a lot of people! 

A coffee shop, a sports store, and interpretive signs about history are inside the station. Several elements recall the building’s original purpose, like the Café de la gare, while works of art inside take inspiration from the railway.
