The Saint-John Perse Museum is a municipal museum located in the historic district of Pointe-à-Pitre. It houses a permanent exhibition on Creole costumes and the poet and diplomat Saint-John Perse, Nobel Prize in Literature in 1960.
The building was partially listed as a historical monument of Guadeloupe on August 17, 1979. This museum is also labeled as a 'Musée de France.'
The architecture of this building is an almost exact replica of the Zévallos Estate House, located on the same island, between Saint-François and Le Moule. Legend has it that a wealthy industrialist from Louisiana commissioned these two houses from Gustave Eiffel's workshop around 1870. Eiffel is also the architect of the cathedral of Pointe-à-Pitre.
