Victor-Lévy Beaulieu claims that if he became a writer, publisher, polemicist, and playwright, it is thanks to his childhood in Trois-Pistoles, where he heard the first stories of his life.
The community has changed a lot since then, but remains just as welcoming, "like a sunset tinting the landscape pink" and entertaining, "like the ebb and flow of the great tides."
One might visit Trois-Pistoles to stop by the Amours canteen or to participate in the intriguing Basque pelota festival... or to hear tales recited in the old forge at Thanksgiving.
Along the Saint Lawrence River, cyclists will travel part of the Route Verte, unless they set their bikes aside to visit Île aux Basques, an exceptional haven for seabirds, located just opposite.
