Saint-Pacôme

The little "Swiss village" of Quebec

Nicknamed by many as the "Swiss village" of Quebec, Saint-Pacôme captivates with its scenic beauty. The village overlooks the Ouelle River, which winds through its territory. Its landscape and vistas naturally invite exploration.

Saint-Pacôme is also recognized as the crime novel capital of Quebec. Each year, the Société du roman policier de Saint-Pacôme awards prestigious distinctions, including the Prix Saint-Pacôme for the best crime novel, attracting authors and enthusiasts.

An impressive setting

The salmon swim upstream to the gorges above the village, where fishermen come to catch them. You can go hiking there and watch the salmon jump in a dreamlike setting.

Côte Norbert leads to a lookout with an exceptional panorama, offering an open view of the village below, the agricultural plain where the river meanders, and, in the background, the thirty kilometers of the river's width up to Isle-aux-Coudres. On the north shore, you can also see Baie Saint-Paul. The sun plays with the clouds above the river, creating patches of sparkling light in constant motion.
