Petit-Saguenay experienced its first tourism boom in the mid-19th century, when wealthy foreign "gentlemen" gathered at the Dumas Fishing Club to fish in a river of exceptional clarity, abundant with salmon. It is a charming little village nestled between a river and a cliff, with winding roads lined with small family farms, set between mountains and valleys.
Long driven by the forestry industry, the community is now mobilizing to boost its economy and revive tourism. Visitors can reconnect with nature and unwind, staying in the century-old log cabins of the Dumas Fishing Club for a first fishing trip. The setting is enchanting, with spectacular views of the Saguenay Fjord.
