Grande-Vallée

A breathtaking view

Visitors arriving in Grande-Vallée via the road that skirts the cliffs of Gaspésie at over 100 meters altitude will first be captivated by the breathtaking view of the vast bay overlooking the Saint Lawrence, its century-old church, and its colorful houses.

In the village square, they will be charmed by the local storyteller's tales before heading to the cliffs to discover the mystical "Gisant," a rock sculpted by water and time into the shape of a human face, inspiring many legends.

Picturesque and enchanting, Grande-Vallée showcases magnificent landscapes that express both the gentle and wild sides of Gaspésie. A fertile valley carved between steep, dizzying mountains, a sandy beach alongside rocky shores and high cliffs, a gentle river flowing into the often turbulent sea in November. It is worth noting that the village has already captivated and inspired two great Quebec creators: Marc-Aurèle Fortin and Gabrielle Roy.
