A Dynamic Village

The first locomotive was called the Dorchester. It was 13 feet long and had four wheels located at its center, which prevented it from rounding curves.

This monument commemorates the 100th anniversary of the first railroad in Canada. The railroad between La Prairie and Saint-Jean is a long straight line that connects the river to Lake Champlain.
