Brief overview

Composed of images mainly taken from the collection of the National Archives of Quebec in Rouyn-Noranda, the mural represents a journey through time. From the right, we can see the different means of transportation used since colonization. The man with the bent back is the pioneer who carries his household on his back, an arduous journey on barely existing roads. Then came the train and the seaplane, which gradually brought the population to occupy the territory. The girl with the coat represents the presence of immigrants from Eastern Europe. Over time, life became more relaxed, giving way to leisure and the development of talents. Winter sports and music concerts are still part of Rouyn-Noranda's DNA and contribute to its reputation today.
