Lotbinière

50 km from Quebec City

Lotbinière is located on the edge of the plateau overlooking the south bank of the Saint Lawrence River, about fifty kilometers from the city of Quebec. Today, Lotbinière primarily relies on agriculture.

Granted as a seigneury in 1672, it features beautiful old stone houses forming a classified ensemble, and the early 19th-century church, along with the presbytery, cemetery, and convent, creates a magnificent setting.

Lotbinière

You must see the Moulin du Portage (1816), which has become a performance hall and picnic spot in an enchanting setting on the Rivière du Chêne, just a few kilometers east of the village. On the banks of the Saint Lawrence, you'll find the Joly-de Lotbinière Manor (1851), featuring a café terrace, concerts, exhibitions, gardens, and a park with a trail leading to a beach.

Large ships peacefully sail up the river towards Montreal and the Great Lakes, and in the distance, on the north shore, you can glimpse the gentle shapes of the Laurentian Mountains.
