Saint-Denis-sur-Richelieu

Many heritage buildings

Saint-Denis-sur-Richelieu has many buildings of heritage interest. The church square forms one of the most typical ensembles. The church is a masterpiece of Quebec religious architecture.

You can cross the river to Saint-Antoine-sur-Richelieu, directly opposite, by car on a charming little boat in summer, or directly on the ice in winter... when it cooperates.

Saint-Denis-sur-Richelieu

This seigneury was granted by the King of France in 1694, but it was colonized around 1740.

Saint-Denis experienced turbulent times during the Patriots' Rebellion in 1837-38, which advocated resistance to British authority. A unique museum, the Maison Nationale des Patriotes, is dedicated to them.
