Copper Theater

This modern-style theatre was built in 1967-1968. The main characteristics of this style involve redesigning the building's interior while maintaining its functionality. The angles of its walls and the materials used are striking. Often considered unconventional, this design emphasizes open space and natural light. The expansion, completed in 1984-1985, blends seamlessly with the original architecture.

One thing is certain: the Théâtre du Cuivre stands out in the landscape, and it's impossible not to notice! The original plans were designed by the renowned avant-garde architect Jean-Marie Roy, while the expansion, which included the addition of the glass roof, were designed by TRAME. The glass roof, in addition to bringing in plenty of light, blends beautifully with the raw materials of the original building: concrete and copper.
