The Songbirds by L'abricot

Tribute to Birds

The Songbirds, another creation from the L'abricot workshop, pays tribute to these discreet little inhabitants that share our environment. The work reminds us that even in a dense urban setting, nature remains present. Birds contribute to the biodiversity of our cities and enhance their vitality.

Source of inspiration

Songbirds are among the most common birds in our daily lives. We encounter them in parks, trees, alleyways, and even in the heart of downtown. Yet, because we see them so often, we often forget to truly notice them.

Approach

Scattered throughout the downtown area, the sparrows appear to have naturally claimed the territory, just as they would in the wild. Their presence encourages visitors to look up, slow down, and observe more of their surroundings.

The art project also speaks of transformation. Each songbird was initially crafted from a simple sheet of cut paper. The artists explored how a very simple material could take on shape, volume, and movement to give the impression of coming to life.
