Tour de Rôle - The Laundry Lines

The daily life that connects us

Clotheslines from Tour de rôle remind us that behind every hanging garment lie stories, habits, joys, and challenges that tell the lives of those who inhabit a neighborhood.

A thread that unites

Like a vine intertwining with architecture, the clothesline crosses public spaces and connects buildings, generations, and communities. It transforms a domestic gesture into a symbol of solidarity, revealing the invisible bonds that weave our collective life.

About the Artists

Tour de Rôle is an artist collective from Gatineau formed by Frédérique Larivée Levesque and Dominic Bachand. Graduates of the master's program in museology and arts practices at the University of Quebec in Outaouais, they create installations that promote encounters, exchanges, and public participation.

Creating Meeting Spaces

Through devices inspired by everyday life, Tour de Rôle transforms public spaces into gathering places. The collective reinterprets the codes of dining and urban furniture to spark conversations, encourage collaboration, and strengthen the sense of community belonging.
