Ste-Gertrude-Manneville

GETTING TO the St. Gertrude Manneville fountain
Why a tree?

There is a simple answer: the tree represents the hard labor of our ancestors, life, continuity and the prosperity of our community.

Branches

With close examination, you will observe scenes on each branch, which represent the heart of the community from yesterday to today.

Nature and the earth are illustrated therein, with scenes of ploughing, planting flowers, etc.

CULTURAT blue

Built in October 2015, it was part of the community project of the artistic fountain tours of the MRC d’Abitibi.

The use of the color blue presents our membership in the Culturat project, the cultural and artistic development initiative in Abitibi-Témiscamingue.

The layout and décor

The layout and décor surrounding the fountain were created in collaboration with volunteers and local municipal employees and development office.

A big thank-you to Mrs. Bibiane Dumais for her flower arranging, Mrs. Danielle Gélinas for the layout, as well as Mr. Roger Dion.

Mr. Jim Couture, a renowned artist from La Morandière, created this tree.

Around

Also in St. Gertrude Manneville:

The canoe/kayak ramble is a great opportunity to meet to paddle and take advantage of nature! A wonderful activity to take part in if you come at the right time.
