Historic Tour of Dubreuilville

Founded in 1961, Dubreuilville is a town originally created by the company owned by Dubreuil Brothers Limited to house its logging workers.

This tour is accessible both online (streaming) and offline (without Internet on the ground, cell phone in hand) with the Preload option of the mobile application.

ABOUT

Established by French-Canadian families who had migrated from Abitibi and the Lower St. Lawrence to work for the Dubreuil brothers, this township that bears their name quickly became a prosperous community, known for its efficiency and innovation in the harvesting and processing of wood.

The township, located 74 km north of Wawa, was officially incorporated in 1985. It experienced its first economic difficulties in the 1980s and 2000s.

The tour will take you through the ups and downs of this community, which has one of the highest concentrations of Francophones - especially unilingual Francophones - in Ontario.
